On Thursday I went to visit a mansion from the 17th century. This building is called the Ham House. It has many different features including a ball room, a grand hall, and a underground kitchen. It also has a huge garden with hundreds of different plants and bushes. It was truly an amazing building. The owner of this was the prince’s whipping boy. You see in the 17th century when a child misbehaved in school he or she would be whipped. When the prince was in school he couldn’t be whipped, well because, he was the prince! So the prince was given a whipping boy( which by the way would be another student). Because the prince couldn’t get whipped his whipping boy would. Later on the prince and his whipping boy became close friends, and the prince offered his former whipping boy the Ham House and the Garden.

Yesterday we arrived in our cottage yesterday it use to be a chicken coop. When we where driving to it we passed Stone Henge, I was amazed by their size. Later this week I hope to get a better look at them. We are going to visit many historical monuments this week, it will be loads of fun!
